Hyderabad: The Nandamuri clan and Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on Thursday paid rich tributes to the legendary actor and politician NTR on his 92nd birth anniversary at the NTR Ghat.
Balakrishna, Harikrishna, Bhuvaneshwari, Jr NTR, Kalyanram and other party leaders were seen paying tributes. Floral tributes were also paid to the statues of the actor at prominent locations. With regaining power, the Telugu Desam Party members paid glowing tributes to the leader.
Born on May 28, 1923 in Nimmakuru village of Gudivada taluk in Krishna district, Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao was one of the most eminent personalities in Tollywood. With his consistent hard work and dedication, he became a Tollywood titan playing mythological roles.
He is known for films – “Patala Bhairavi”, “Malliswari”, “Thodu Dongalu”, “Mayabazar”, “Bhookailas”, “Gulebakavali Katha”, “Bhishma”, “Ramudu Bheemudu” and others. He scored blockbusters with his movies and also conquered hearts of millions with his brilliant and varied roles.
He received several awards and honours including ‘Padma Shri’. He also made his mark in the field of politics and served as the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh for three terms.
